Are Orgain products made with GMO ingredients?Updated a month ago
Orgain is opposed to the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food. Most of Orgain products are certified under the USDA National Organic Program. The use of genetic engineering or GMOs is prohibited in organic products. This means an organic farmer cannot plant GMO seeds, an organic cow cannot be fed GMO alfalfa or corn, and an organic producer cannot use any GMO ingredients. To meet the USDA National Organic regulations, farmers and processors must show they are not using GMOs and that they are protecting their products from contact with prohibited substances from farm to table. For those products not certified Organic, Orgain requires suppliers to demonstrate that the ingredient was produced without using genetic modification.
