I see shiny pieces of crystals in my protein powder that resemble glass, what is that?Updated 4 days ago

Not glass at all! Those crystals are erythritol, a food-based sweetener that appears in crystal form. If you take one out, you'll notice it dissolves easily and tastes sweet. Below is a photo example of what erythritol crystals look like.

The majority of Orgain products have been reformulated and are no longer made with erythritol. As part of our ongoing work to improve taste and texture, we developed new sweetness systems across much of our portfolio. Because products move through stores at different rates, you may still have a container from an earlier formula at home. That product is perfectly safe to enjoy through the Best If Used By Date, and what you're seeing is simply erythritol doing what it naturally does.

The best way to know what's in the product you have is to check the ingredient list and nutrition facts panel, where erythritol is always clearly declared as required by labeling regulations.
